Fellow runners, walkers, Magnolia Meltdown supporters/fans,
The COVID-19 situation unfortunately requires that we alter our plans once again. We are clearly disappointed, but we are not discouraged and have decided this time to adapt rather than cancel or postpone. We will eventually be back, in full force we believe, with an in-person, festive, awesome event, and we look forward to it.
But, due to the recent increase in COVID cases and community spread, we have made the difficult decision to transition the Magnolia Meltdown to a virtual event. After postponing several times since 2019, the time has come to keep the spirit of the Meltdown going and continue the fundraising for the St. Dominic Community Health Clinic that has always been at the heart of this event.
How it works
1. Engage your community in fundraising for the Community Health Clinic.
2. Run your registered distance on the weekend of September 24-26. Race shirts and medals will be shipped to the address used to register.
Runners who report results by midnight on September 26 will be entered into a door prize drawing (bonus entry for tagging @magnoliameltdown in a finisher pic with your shirt and medal on Facebook!).
Registered runners will automatically be transitioned to the virtual event and should have received an email with information.
We appreciate your support along this journey, and we hope to be able to run together again soon. Follow us on Facebook for the latest updates and information.
Stay safe and keep moving,
Rick, Keith, Julia and Meredith
